Borussia Dortmund Striker Sbastien Haller Was Sidelined After Discovering Testicular Cancer.

Borussia Dortmund announced on Tuesday that their new player, Sbastien Haller, had been sidelined after being diagnosed with testicular cancer. Dortmund stated in their statement that Haller fainted during training camp in the Swiss Alps on Monday and was taken to the hospital the next day, where a golf ball-sized growth was detected.

Haller, who scored 13 goals in 28 games for Eintracht Frankfurt last season, has now returned to Germany where he will undergo more tests at a specialist medical facility over the coming days. “This news today came as a shock to S├ębastien Haller and everyone else,” said Dortmund’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl. “The entire BVB family hopes that S├ębastien makes a full recovery as soon as possible and that we can give him a hug again soon. “We’ll do everything in our power to ensure that he receives the best possible treatment.”

Haller, who has not yet commented on the incident, joined Borussia Dortmund earlier this month following a successful spell at Dutch side Ajax. The Ivory Coast international scored 47 goals in 66 games for his former club and 11 of those came in the Champions League. Dortmund requested privacy for Haller and will provide an update when more information is available.
