The US Will Participate In A Military Exercise Near The Border With China.

The United States and India will conduct military drills at an altitude of 10,000 feet in Auli in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, less than 100 kilometers from the South Asian country's disputed border with China. The drills will focus on high-altitude warfare training and will take place as part of the 18th edition of an annual joint exercise known as "Yudh Abhyas" -- or "War Practice." Since a clash between Chinese and Indian soldiers in the Himalayas in June 2020 left at least 20 Indian troops and four Chinese soldiers dead, relations have remained strained. Tensions have been further raised recently by China building a bridge across Pangong Tso Lake, which sits along the border—a move condemned by the Indian government as an "illegal occupation." During a visit to India this year, ...

The United States Sank The Al Qaeda Leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri In A Drone Strike In Afghanistan.

On Monday, President Joe Biden confirmed that the United States killed al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in a drone strike. Zawahiri had remained a visible international symbol of the group, 11 years after bin Laden's death. At one point, he acted as bin Laden's personal physician. A senior administration official said Osama bin Laden's successor, Ayman al-Zawahiri, was killed in an airstrike conducted Saturday night by two unmanned drones, firing several missiles at a safe house in downtown Kabul where he was hiding with his family. The strike was authorized by President Obama following weeks of meetings with his Cabinet and key advisers. It took place at 9:48 p.m. ET on Saturday after confirmation from multiple sources that al-Zawahiri was present in the area, contrary to agreements m...

Bipartisan Group Of Senators Negotiates A Settlement To Respond To Their Response To New Year’s Day’s Terrorist Attack.

The bipartisan group of U.S. senators reached an agreement to increase the difficulty of overriding the president's certified presidential election, the most important congressional decision in the aftermath of former White House chief Donald Trump's unrelenting campaign to reverse the election results of the upcoming election. The bill has to be approved by both chambers and is expected to need 60 votes in the Senate to break any filibuster attempt, meaning at least 10 Republicans would be needed to support any legislation. Announcement of the plan kicks off what is expected to be a challenging, months-long process to get the deal passed into law before the end of the year. The deal is the culmination of months of negotiation led by Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine and Democratic...

European Commission Plans To Reduce Use Of Gas Fuels By 15 Percent By April 2023.

The European Commission unveiled on Wednesday its plan of action to decrease use of oil and natural gas in Europe by 15 percent, as it is working to strengthen the EU's energy resilience amid tensions with Russia, a major gas supplier. Announcing the Save Gas for a Safe Winter package, EU Commission president Ursula von der Leyen stated twelve member states had been increasingly affected by gas shortages or a gas cutoff from Russia. A Commission spokeswoman said that by September, the EU must show how it will meet a 15% reduction in gas use. She said there will be measures to help EU member countries meet the necessary reductions, including a “focus on substitution of gas with other fuels, and overall energy savings in all sectors.” The Commission also urged member states to launch publ...

MBS Is Rebuking Joe Biden After The President Addressed Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman About The Murder Of Jamal Khashoggi.

Mohammed bin Salman hit out at Joe Biden after the US President confronted him about the 2018 murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi during a meeting between the two leaders on Friday. When asked by US President Joe Biden to assume responsibility for the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Turkey, crown prince MBS denied responsibility. Joe Biden said that he did believe that MBS, according to intelligence assessments some time before, hence he strongly opposed this claim. In response to Biden's comments about Khashoggi, Prince Faisal bin Farhan told reporters that MBS cited the sexual and physical abuse of prisoners at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison by US military personnel and the May killing of Palestinian American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in the occupied West Bank as incide...

Former Oath Keeper Was Worried Donald Trump Would Try To “Whip Up A Civil War” If He Was Re-Elected.

A former spokesperson for the Oath Keepers, an extremist group, states that it is "exceedingly fortunate that more bloodshed did not occur." Jason Van Tatenhove, who is concerned about the next election, said the potential for more violence "has been there from the start." He added that he is worried about images of people being hanged during the insurrection and noted that Vice President Mike Pence was among those targeted. Although he does not know what exactly awaits him in developing years, he is concerned that he might execute something similar this year to the last one, when he made fools out of many by spreading lies and sowing discord. As US former President Trump stews about 2024 election, he is uncertain about whom he might face, but he expects that if he leaves a major ...

A Suspect Found A Gun Used In Highland Park After Being Paraded By The Mayor.

Highland Park, Illinois, Mayor Nancy Rotering said while she did not know where the weapon used in the Monday shooting in her city came from, she told NBC, "I do know that it was legally obtained." Rotering knew the shooter, Robert E. Crimo III, as a child, and she did not believe he was among the city's previous suspects. Brian is well-known for being a boy who used to be Cub Scout leader, as well as the mayor of Highland Park. Six people died as the result of the beginning of an action in the city, and four others were hurt. The suspect was arrested on Monday. Russia Says That Its Missile Strike On The Town Of Kremenchuk Hit Western-Made Weapons And Ammunition.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has for the first time referred to its missile strike on the city of Kremenchuk in Ukrainian Crimea. The strike hit the mall on Monday, killing at least 18 people and leaving 20 others still missing. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has claimed that a high-precision strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a weapons warehouse in Kremenchuk, including Western-made weapons and ammunition that were being transported to pro-Russian separatists in Donbas. The ministry blamed "the detonation of stored ammunition for Western weapons" for causing a fire in what it described as a "non-functioning" neighboring shopping mall. Extensive video from Kremenchuk shows that a shopping mall in the heart of the city was obliterated by one of the two missiles that we...

Russia’s “Arsenal Of Terror” Now Includes Food.

Food has been part of Russia's enemy arsenal quite recently, according to European Commission boss Ursula von der Leyen. Addressing the European Parliament in Strasbourg, von der Leyen voiced her support for Ukraine's Black Sea ports as a remedy for the looming global food crisis. “This is a cold, callous and calculated siege by Putin on some of the most vulnerable countries and people in the world,” von der Leyen told EU lawmakers. “Our response must be commensurate with the gravity of the situation. Food has become a weapon of war in Russia's hands, and we cannot tolerate it.” The European Union's growing list of sanctions on Russia did not target basic food products, according to Jean-Claude Juncker, the European Commission chief. The EU's sanctions do not affect the trade o...

Dr. Oz of Trump-backed fame will run for senator from Pennsylvania once his challenger decides to concede the race. Former hedge fund executive David McCormick said he could not make up the margin separating him and his Democratic rival John Fetterman in last month's cliff-hanger vote. Fewer than 1,000 ballots out of 1.34m votes cast separated the two rivals. Mr Oz will now take on the Democratic candidate, who is currently recovering from a stroke. Mr McCormick and Mr Oz fought each other to a standstill, with the vote margin between them falling to within a 0.5% automatic recount threshold. Winfrey Show heart doctor Mr Oz, best known for his guest appearances on the show, released a video cues prior to the recount even beginning, inviting people to vote for him as the "presumptive ...
